Small Business, Mighty Impact Event!

February 1st, 2018 marked the Women's Business Center's first successful friend raiser 'Small Business, Mighty Impact'. Over 160 entrepreneurs and business professionals extended their support for our local women small business owners.

As guests entered they walked through our market place where local products and services were displayed. Each business represented a unique industry within our community. Other eye catching activities featured at SBMI, were our Silent Auction, that brought in nearly $2,500. And our WBC Client Success Exhibit.

Our guests enjoyed tasteful treats provided by Popollo, Las Delicias de Zacatecas, and Nourish. Guests were topped off with a divine glass of wine and sampled craft cocktails perfected and served by Root Elixers, Talley Vineyards and Croma Vera Winery. Coastal Peaks also kept our guests wide-eyed and sprightly as the evening progressed.

After a bit of mingling, Polly Mertens and Kathy Marcove shared the top 10 hottest trends to come in 2018 and how to adapt to these trends to increase profit. With the heartfelt speeches and extraordinary journeys that were shared by Mayor Harmon and Ariel Shannon, our guests left full of inspiration and excitement, looking forward to beginning the next chapter in their own journeys

MCSC/WBC was delighted to receive special recognition from Congressman Salud Carbajal, California Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham, and Mayor Heidi Harmon. Support from all levels of government are essential to our organization's growth!

An amazing graduation this week as our 14 graduates presented their businesses to our Shark Tank panel! These entreprenuers spent the past 10-weeks deciding, refining, and advancing their businesses. It was amazing to hear how far they have come since week one and we can not wait to continue supporting your business and your success! Congratulations!

Our WBC met with Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham and his wonderful team this week, to collaborate on how to better serve our small business community!

Great insight and strategy has stemmed from our initial meeting, and the WBC will be working to implement these ideas moving into 2018! We look forward to staying proactive in the community and providing for the needs of aspiring and existing small business owners. 😁☺️

AWBC Conference Recap Video

Last week MCSC's Women's Business Center team members had the opportunity to travel to the East Coast for our annual conference as part of the Association of Women's Business Centers!

This year we were hosted in beautiful Alexandria, Virginia. We came together to share our support for new staff, and collaborate on best practices for future growth.

Key Note Speaker Linda McMahon, the Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator, left us inspired with the initiatives and goals she strives to achieve as head of the SBA. Most importantly, leading and impacting the nation with quality outcomes that serve our community and harbor economic prosperity nationwide!
